We shot a wedding! Our friend Evan, who we met in a previous shoot, found himself in a bind--four days away from his and his fiancee's big day and they had no photographer! They reached out to us on a Monday and we were able to figure something out for the wedding on Saturday. Though Aleah was unable to make the trip down to Colorado Springs, we solicited the help of our friend Lemar Griffin to step in as a second shooter and to shoot a little bit of video. Given the short notice and the fact that our equipment isn't ideal for event photos, we still made it work--and had a blast doing it.
The biggest hurdle we had, was not having a speedlight or even an on-camera flash. We typically shoot family portraits, headshots, and engagement photos where utilize our Profoto off-camera flash systems. The ceremony venue was a little dark, which caused us to crank up our ISO, which made some photos a little more grainy, which steered the post-process in the direction of B&W more often than typically. That said, the black and white images are some of our favorites! What do you think? We are especially grateful to Evan and Cieralin for giving us the opportunity to create some memories for them on their big day. Thanks to Lemar Griffin Films for helping out on such short notice. And finally we wish the newlyweds blessings on blessings as they start their lives together!
